Hilo Medical Center will reopen its main lobby entrance Monday as part of its ongoing lobby renovation project. This phase of the project will last between eight to 10 weeks.

The mauka entrance and visitor elevators will be closed, and patients, visitors and staff are encouraged to use the service elevators and designated stairwells to get to other floors.

Patients of East Hawaii Health Clinic also will need to enter through the lobby.

The $3.5 million renovation project is set to improve functionality and variety of services for patients, ranging from patient admission to medical records requests.

The outpatient pharmacy portion of the project is slated to open at the end of the year, where patients will be able to pick up their prescriptions after discharge from the Emergency Department or hospital.
